A $200 million dollar project creating 100 jobs and power for 90,000 homes -Transfield Services which owns Windy Hill near Ravenshoe plans to build another two wind farms on the Tablelands.
Dwarfing the capacity of Windy Hill which powers 3600 homes, the High Road project on farmland near Tumoulin Road, involves land agreements with four farmers and the site once completed, will power 30,000 homes. The third project at Ariga west of Mareeba will be able to power more than 55,000 homes. (Cairns Post 19 February, 2010)
