Applications for Round 4 closed on 1 July and we have received over 300 applications, setting a new record for Reef Rescue in the Wet Tropics.
Despite the prolonged wet season and Cyclone Yasi, farmers have continued to take up the opportunity to apply for Reef Rescue grants. This year additional horticultural crops were included which have boosted numbers. Data will now be entered and prepared for the assessment process in September, to select the projects that will make the greatest improvement to water quality and farm profitability. Applicants will be informed if their project is successful in being funded by the end of September.
A summary of figures will be posted on the website in the next fortnight.
