Our friends at Rainforest Rescue and Wildlife Preservation Society of Queensland (WPSQ) both have Christmas cards for sale to raise funds for our local wildlife. Read more for how to get yours! Rainforest RescueRainforest Rescue have issued a media release saying that with $750 million dollars spent on unwanted gifts each year, environmental organisation Rainforest Rescue is urging consumers to consider purchasing more 'thoughtful' and 'sustainable' gifts this year. Research conducted by The Australia Institute found that 53% of Australians typically throw away at least one Christmas gift and 21% give at least one Christmas present to someone they do not want to. Interestingly, 4 out of 5 people said they would be happy to forego a gift in lieu of a charity donation, indicating a growing trend away from consumer-based goods.Rainforest Rescue have a variety of gift cards available.

WPSQ The Wildlife Preservation Society of Qld Tully is fund raising to purchase native seedlings in order to plant back cassowary food trees destroyed in cyclone Yasi. Below are photos of the cards WPSQ Tully are selling. They are blank inside and could be used as Xmas cards or a Xmas gift pack.
