Agforce are hosting a series of free vegetation management workshops in the Wet Tropics region in October.

The workshops are open to all producers and cover:

• Up-to-date information on the Vegetation Management Act 1999 and Regrowth Vegetation Code
  • its regulations and exemptions
  • what trees/regrowth can be cleared without a permit
  • what activities require a vegetation clearing permit
• Assistance with interpreting Regional Ecosystem and Regrowth Maps
  • what the different colours and numbered codes mean, how to dispute incorrect classifications
• Assistance with securing cleared farming areas (non-remnant vegetation/white areas) through applying for a PMAV
• An outline of the Native Forest practice Code on Freehold Land

Participants will receive:

• Version six regional ecosystem, version two regrowth and satellite maps of your property
• A certificate of participation which goes toward a nationally accredited Certificate IV in Conservation and Land Management
