| Landcarers celebrate generations of guardians |

The 22nd annual Queensland Landcare Conference being held in Ayr from 20 – 23 September, being hosted by Lower Burdekin Landcare Association, will have the theme Generations of Guardians. More than 250 people are expected to attend the event... ...which will include keynote presentations by Dr Linda Selvey, CEO Greenpeace Australia Pacific and Dr John Williams, Member Wentworth Group of Concerned Scientists and Commissioner for Natural Resources NSW as well as more than 30 other speakers covering topics as broad as biodiversity, sustainable agriculture, innovation in delivery, engaging young people, Indigenous land management, managing rangelands and more. Field trips will explore prawn, capsicum, achacha and cane farms, wetlands and wildlife, composting and grazing, marine research, a cogeneration mill, salinity and water management issues, fish ladders, prickly acacia and salvinia control projects, lagoons and waterways and sites with traditional heritage. Delegates will also have ample time to network with three evening social events including a welcome reception, lagoon-side spit roast and gala conference dinner.
