As part of Council’s Recovery Plan a series of community forums have been arranged in localities across the region during the month of March, chaired by Councillor Downs.

The purpose of the forums is to provide an opportunity for residents of localities across the region to learn about the recovery process and to provide feedback about improving the response to disasters and what communities need to recover.

I have been finalising the venues and can now distribute the schedule. The only unconfirmed venues are East Palmerston and Silkwood, although the contacts there are confident they will be available.

This is only the first series of meetings and people who can’t attend these will have other opportunities to attend similar meetings and to provide feedback via a survey form addressing the same points raised at the meetings. These forms can be obtained from Council offices, libraries, visitor information centres and recovery centres, although our distribution has been disrupted by the weather.
