The Cassowary Coast Regional Council has developed a Cyclone Yasi Recovery Plan of which a component is the recovery of the natural environment.  A public Bulletin with relevant notices and articles is available.  

The plan has been prepared under the authority of the Queensland Disaster Management Act 2003 as an operational recovery plan for Tropical Cyclone (TC) Yasi.

It aims to provide a framework for Cassowary Coast Regional Council, local community groups, emergency agencies to quickly and practically facilitate the recovery of affected individuals, communities, the environment and infrastructure impacted by TC Yasi within the Council's area of responsibility.

Terrain NRM amongst other organisations is participating in a Natural Recovery Working Group led by Council to ensure a collaborative approach in the recovery effort.

Recovery Plans similar to this will be inplace over approximately 63 Local Government Authoritiess due to the influx of natural disasters being experienced across the State.
