It was with great honour (and surprise) that Deb Bass (Terrain's Reef Rescue Communications Officer based in the Atherton office) accepted an Environmental Excellence award on behalf of Terrain at the Tablelands Regional Council's (TRC) Australia Day ceremony in Mareeba. Terrain was recognised for their significant achievements and noteworthy contribution to the community environmentally. Penny Scott, Terrain's Tableleand Area Team Leader said, 'This award signifies a growing relationship with our community partners who are pivotal to making things happen in the area. Thankyou to TRC for this wonderful recognition.' 'Congratulations to the Terrain team and all the wonderful community, indigenous, government and industry partners who are instruemental in progressing natural resource management (NRM) in the region,' said Terrain's CEO, Carole Sweatman. 'This is a fantastic regional achievement and we strive to continue supporting the Wet Tropics community and our members. Along with the efforts of our patners, this award has been a testament to Terrain's improved communications of which we invite all relevant stakeholders to capitalise on.'
