The Federal Opposition is promising to return environment funding to local groups across Australia if it is elected to Government later this year. Funding for Land Care has been a point of contention, and the Federal Government's Caring for Our Country Program has been criticised for problems with funding. Greg Hunt, Federal Shadow Minister for Environment has not promised to reverse the $81 million cut to the program, but will give back to local groups.
