Mossman farmers are onto a sweet thing. An 8 year study by the Rural Industries Research and Development Corporation into the feasibility of growing cocoa, has found acceptable yields and quality. Demand for cocoa is rising internationally at 3% a year with strong prices forecast. Local farmer Don Murday who planted 2200 coca plants four years ago is about to harvest his second crop!
